Afek Information systems Engineering has
developed financial BI modules for one of its most prominent
clients. The client is an international company that employees
approximately 300 people and is located in the north of Israel.
Afek is a
software company that focuses on the fields of: BI, ERP, Custom made software
development, Intranet & Internet, Computerization consulting and Computer
services and support.
The current BI project included the development of two modules
/information cubes: Budget and Cost Analysis.
The project began due to a need for a tool which will be user friendly and
allow for a swift, and up to date, analysis of the financial data, according to defined
criteria.
The budget module gathers information from
several different computer systems. It than proceeds by presenting a
comprehensive and up to date status of the budget, which includes both past and
future data. Use of this module enables each and every executives in the company
to better control and direct his or hers resources.
Each of the employees
who have access to this module can define and produce reports according to his
or hers needs. This option helps the company to remain within the limits of its
overall budget. It is also extremely useful in the decision making process, for
example concerning personnel requirements and the employment of sub contractors.
The Cost Analysis module has been developed with Microsoft
tools and is connected to the company’s ERP system.
The main use for
this module is the analysis of internal costs over time. The most significant
advantage of using this module is the ability it provides
to review costs according
to different aspects, such as an overall project or according to a
specific component, and the changes in the costs over time.
This form of
analysis allows the module users to examine a certain specific or wide area over
time from different perspectives, evaluate the situation and make better
informed decisions according to the data presented.
For
the purpose of this project Afek has formed a specially dedicated team of system
analysts and financial specialists, in order to supply the customer with the
best suited solution .
